It’s over. Our relationship just hasn’t been working for a while, and now, this is it. I’m leaving you for another browser.
I know this isn’t a good time–you’re down with yet another virus. I do hope you feel better soon–really, I do–but I, too, have to move on with my life. Fact is, in the entire time I’ve known you, you seem to always have a virus or an occasional worm. You should really see a doctor.
That said, I just can’t continue with this relationship any longer. I know you say you’ll fix things, that next time it’ll go better–but that’s what you said the last time–and the time before that. Each time I believed you.
Well, not any longer.

The truth is there’s nothing more you can say to make things better. I know about your secret marriage to Windows. You say you two are not seeing each other anymore, but I just don’t believe it. You say you can live without Windows, and I’ve heard that Windows can live without you, but I know that’s simply not true.
Por fin llegó el tan esperado lanzamiento de la versión 1.0 de Firefox.
Todavia no está disponible en los servidores Mozilla la versión en español (es-ES) pero si está en la página del Proyecto NAVE.
La que parece la última versión antes de la fecha programada de lanzamiento de Firefox 1.0 (Nov. 9), ya está disponible para descargar.
Ya ha salido Thunderbird 0.9, con lo que cada vez está más cerca la primera versión estable y “definitiva”.
Justo a tiempo para Halloween, salen las primeras versiones “definitivas” de Firefox 1.0. Se han arreglado 250 bugs y está disponible en unas 24 versiones “localizadas” (idiomas).
Una pequeña (50KB) extension para Firefox que proporciona un cliente FTP, en ventana separada o en pestaña.
Para arreglar un fallo de seguridad descubierto la semana pasada, la Mozilla Foundation ha actualizado la versión de Firefox a 0.10.1.
También se puede parchear con la opción de auto actualización de Firefox (si la versión instalada es la 1.0PR), o instalando una extensión a este respecto.
Ojalá fuese así de facil con IE/Win…
Como en los mejores tiempos de las “Browser Wars”, otra vez toman relevancia las estadisticas de uso de navegadores… pero claro, ha sido la “perdida de mercado” más grande para Internet Explorer en los últimos 7 años.
